The
One Year Advanced Full Time Course
The school prides itself on small class sizes allowing for much individual attention. This
full-time course will equip the student with the competence
in front of a camera as well as the freedom
a great performance demands.
The
course consists of four, eight week modules with a
four week break between each module. The modules have been carefully
designed to incrementally increase both
the student’s knowledge base and acting skills.
Age limit is 21 years or above.
Module 1 Consists of core acting skills and draws on many of the
traditional acting exercises in areas such as Voice and Speech
Clarity, Physical & Spatial Awareness, Text Study, Improvisation,
Character/Relationship Study, Meisner/Strasberg
and The Method and
acting in camera lessons. This is the foundation module focused
on establishing core acting abilities.
Module
2 This is the TV acting module that incorporates much of the
above but extended with advanced
acting
for camera, screenplay development, The Chubbuck Technique
and martial arts. Areas such as ‘the method’ are
explored along with continued traditional acting exercises.
This module
also includes acting in a multi-camera environment and screen writing classes.
Module 3 This is the film acting
module with continuing lessons in voice, spatial awareness,
improvisation
acting
and acting in camera etc. This module is set to enhance understanding
of the film acting medium. Short film projects are produced
in house as a prelude to module four’s film projects. Self Marketing for Actors is also introduced in this module.
Module 4 Horseriding is introduced in this module. This is the consolidation module and is designed to incorporate
the three previous
modules, and
also includes professional
presentation, audition techniques, show reels, and a series
of film projects as a culmination of the entire course
The films will
be
presented to Casting Directors, Agents and other Industry professionals
at the end of the course at BAFTA in Piccadilly.
Master classes given by visiting established professionals are offered at intervals throughout Modules 3 and 4.
In
addition students are encouraged to develop an interest in pre
and post production, writing, camera work and basic editing to
enhance
their overall understanding of the medium.
