Michael has worked extensively in television and theatre as an actor and director since graduating from Mountview Academy. Also holds a Masters Degree in Actor Training and Coaching from Central School of Speech and Drama.
He has directed a number of original plays, including winning a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival. Michael continues to direct comedians and sketch shows at the Edinburgh Festival.
He was a guest director at the Millfield Theatre Company for 4 years and directed many productions. Including Macbeth, One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Merchant of Venice and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
As an actor he has appeared in many TV productions, these include Prisoner of Zenda, the Theban Plays, Allo Allo, Freud, Diana, the Cleopatra’s and Doctor Who, as well as TV commercials, training films and screen acting projects.
As an Acting Coach he has taught at the Actor’s Centre, Central School of Speech and Drama, Identity drama school and continues to be a regular teacher at the International School of Screen Acting. He specialises in the Michael Chekhov methodology, and also teaches workshops in Shakespeare for Camera, Psycho-Physical Theatre and Classical Text.
