The One Year advanced course is a fast paced intensive course for those with training or experience within theatre, Film or Television. This course will focus on developing skills specifically for Screen whilst addressing the core skills necessary to be a transitional actor able to perform across all mediums.

We place an emphasis on holistic training, working through the body to enable you to discover and enhance your creative self. There is importance placed on reflective practice, which encourages critical awareness of the process chosen for particular projects and how the performance process is realised on screen.

The school prides itself on small class sizes allowing for much individual attention. This full-time course runs over four 8 week modules divided by short breaks in between. The year will culminate in a graduation screening at BAFTA presented to Casting Directors, Agents and other Industry professionals.

The academic year is divided over four interconnected modules that will incorporate an in-depth actor training within the realm of the camera. Core acting skills, alongside intensive camera technique, will equip the student with the confidence to be comfortable in front of a camera as well as develop the freedom a great performance demands.

A range of classes are taught across the modules (Various Methodologies, Screen Combat, Multi Camera Technique, Blue Screen, Advanced Camera Technique. Other areas of the curriculum include comprehensive vocal training and core acting classes: The Method, Meisner, Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov...) and Students are also encouraged to develop an interest in pre and post production, screen writing, camera work and basic editing to enhance their overall understanding of the medium.

Students take part in various Performance Projects throughout the year, designed to put class work into practice. They enable students to develop and hone their acting skills on screen and to increase awareness of the filmmaking process. In addition, individual modular reports are provided to students by each tutor to outline student progress, skills and development.
