ONE YEAR INTENSIVE SCREEN ACTING COURSE
About the Course
The one year course is fast, intensive and focuses on equipping the student actor with the means to encompass the challenges of a demanding industry.
Emphasis is given to an holistic approach enabling the student to discover and enhance their creative centre.
The course is essentially project driven with emphasis placed on ‘process not product’.
Developing professional practice is incorporated within the ambit of the project driven approach of ‘learning by doing’. This facilitates the opportunity for students to grasp the importance of teamwork.
As part of their professional development students are made aware of studio etiquette and environmental discipline so essential for working professionally in the TV & Film industry.
Other subjects on the course include; ‘screenwriting for actors’, multicam TV acting, blue screen, improvisation, genre based film projects, funded student short film projects, castings workshops, audition technique, horse riding and screen combat.
Module 4 provides students the opportunity to apply what they have learnt/gained from the previous 3 modules in preparation for their graduation.
This consists of a screening in a commercial cinema to the graduands and their guests exploring the work of the school.
The students are assisted in creating their own show reels from in house work which are then send out to industry contacts during the time leading up to graduation.
Class sizes are generally kept small facilitating individual attention. The course runs over four 8 week modules, 5 days per week, Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm.

Career Development Loan
This is a popular choice for students wishing to enhance their career. Applications between £300 and £10,000 can be made to help finance the course and cost of living. These loans are offered at a low interest rate which the government pays throughout the period of study. It is required that the loan is repaid in instalments after graduation. Please note, applications should be made 3 months before the course start date and are subject to status.
