A Two Year professional vocational acting training for screen, specifically designed for younger students with less experience or training. This course has been created to develop and discover disciplines of acting skills, as well as screen performance technique for those who have interest and passion for performing on screen.
ABOUT THE SCREEN ACTING COURSE
The Two Year screen acting course provides an in-depth training carefully designed to develop the students vocal, physical and emotional range. This course will focus on developing skills specifically for Screen whilst being able to dedicate time to absorb and reflect the various acting methodologies.
The course requires a less intensive learning pace for those still exploring their emotional and cultural maturity, allowing more time to discover and enhance the creative self as well as personal development. Importance is placed on reflective practice, which encourages critical awareness of how a performance is realised on screen.
The school prides itself on small class sizes allowing for individual attention. This full-time course runs over eight 8 week modules divided by short breaks in between. The training will culminate in a graduation screening at BAFTA presented to Casting Directors, Agents and other Industry professionals.
This year is about discovery and exploration – enabling the student to realise their creative potential. Students work on developing a personal process, vocal and physical skills as well as acquiring the essential qualities to work confidently on camera. Various recorded media projects throughout the first year will give students the opportunity to apply their training to a variety of genres and styles.
Students continue building on the experience of the first year and begin to think about applying their technical and artistic skills within industry contexts. The final year also includes professional preparation; mock auditions, how to survive as a working actor and meeting agents, casting directors and producers.
The two year course covers all aspects of screen craft and is designed to place class work into a professional context. A range of classes are taught across the modules (Various Methodologies, Screen Combat, Multi Camera Technique, Advanced Camera Technique. Other areas of the curriculum include comprehensive vocal training and core acting classes; Method acting, Meisner, Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov.) and Students are encouraged to develop an interest in pre and post production, screen writing, camera work and basic editing to enhance their overall understanding and fundamentals of film.
